Understanding the affiliate program that you are promoting is a very important step as you will want to know the benefits that you can get from the Affiliate program. One of the things that you will want to know is the commission and the incentive that the merchant is offering. There are 2 questions that you will have to ask yourself.
The 1st question is how much you will be able to earn and whether there is any extra incentives. You will want to know the percentage of your commission so that you will know the amount of money that you will earn for every sales that you have make. If you are able to make consistent sales for the merchant, you can try to contact the merchant for extra incentives. Some of them will be willing to give higher commission or they will give you straight cash.
The 2nd question that you want to know is whether you will be able to earn the commission if the customer purchases the 2nd product from the merchant. There are some merchant who will put 2 to 3 backend products after the customer purchased the 1st product. It will be a added incentive for you if you will also be credited with the commission if they purchased the back end product too.
These are the 2 questions that you will have to ask yourself when you are considering the commission and the incentive that the affiliate program is offering. You will want to be rewarded as much as possible as you will be able to sell many of the merchant's products. It is thus important to have a good understanding of the affiliate program before you join.
